Tarot has become one of my favorite things over the last decade. At first, I had to get past the rediculous notion that a deck of paper was somehow Satan worship. Old rediculous core beliefs instilled from childhood almost kept me from learning more about it. Not only did I find it incredibly fun, I realized that it actually helped me more than any standard religious practice I’ve ever tried. At the risk of getting hate mail, I’m going to say it.
Tarot helped me find God.
How can I say this? Because I used it like a Rorschach inkblot and had to be real with myself and face my deepest thoughts and feelings without outside interference. I started seeing the good things and the abundance everywhere and in everyone. I stopped looking for perfect. I stopped thinking mistakes were the end of the world and realized mistakes were simply learning experiences. I learned everything is exactly as it should be right now. I learned that we are all perfectly imperfect, and that’s okay. Tarot helped me see the harmful and unhelpful patterns I was caught in, and gave me patience to allow others to be stuck in their own. And it took finding tarot to understand it.
I’m not expecting everyone to understand this. Four years of studying psychology makes me very aware of how strong our core beliefs have a hold on us and can get in our own way. Things we believe just because someone else told us to believe them. That’s why I made this weeks video on how I use tarot to be a better person. It’s okay if you don’t agree with me. No matter how you choose to practice your religion is the right way as long as it works for you.
